 TA Program
English Language Proficiency Services (ELP)
The TA Program of the Graduate School in conjunction with the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) department provide English Language Proficiency Services which include:
- Assessment of American English language skills for new teaching assistants who are non-native speakers of English.
- Offering of a two course curriculum, ENG 610 and ENG 611, designed to improve spoken English in an American classroom and in conversation. Laboratory sessions accompany these as well.
- Undergraduate Consultants, an optional opportunity for non-native speakers to practice their English with an undergraduate student.
