Alliance for Graduate Education in the Professoriate (AGEP)
Our society is becoming more technologically advanced, and the demand is increasing for college graduates with specialized knowledge and professional credentials. Although America is becoming ever more diverse, the percentage of African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans earning advanced college degrees in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering remains notably low. To help with this problem, four universities from New York and Puerto Rico have formed an innovative alliance to recruit minority students and enhance the quality of the doctoral experience for those students in science, mathematics and engineering.
